Lincoln Club of Orange County Endorses Shawn Nelson for Supervisor

By on March 16, 2010

FULLERTON, CA — The Nelson for Supervisor campaign announced today that the Lincoln Club of Orange County has endorsed conservative Shawn Nelson for Supervisor in the 4th district.

“Orange County taxpayers need Shawn Nelson on the Board of Supervisors, where he will serve as a watchdog against wasteful spending and will hold every agency and department accountable,” said Bob Loewen, President of the Lincoln Club of Orange County. “Shawn is also at the forefront of our efforts to rein in public employee union bosses, who use taxpayer money for their own political power, resulting in out of control pensions that cannot be sustained at current levels.”

Shawn Nelson is a Fullerton City Councilman and the leading candidate for Supervisor in the 4th district, which is currently open due to the election of Chris Norby to the Assembly. Norby is strongly supporting Nelson, as is U.S. Representative Ed Royce, Senator Mimi Walters and Supervisor Pat Bates, among others.

Founded in 1962, the Lincoln Club of Orange County has shaped local, state and national politics for over four decades. The club has played a pivotal role in the candidacies of Ronald Reagan, Pete Wilson, George Deukmejian as well as the recall of Gray Davis. Throughout its history, the Lincoln Club has stayed true to its founding principles and continues the important work of fighting to reduce the power and scope of government, pushing for lower taxes, and more freedom for us all.
