First Friday Art Walk in Historic Downtown Fullerton offers a warm summer stroll on June 4th

By on May 27, 2010
Fullerton, CA (Wednesday, May 26, 2010) –Local art galleries and downtown venues are preparing to host the monthly First Friday Art Walk in Downtown Fullerton, which will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The incredibly popular Art Walk brings hundreds of art lovers and Fullertonians to full the streets of downtown Fullerton and various venues hosting art shows for the event. Families and art lovers are encouraged to come to Downtown Fullerton and enjoy an evening of over twenty venues of free art activities and exhibition openings within walking distance of each other. A map will be provided at each venue providing a guided tour.  Free refreshments are also provided throughout the evening at many of the stops.
Here is some of what you can expect to see and experience:
Elizabeth Designs Presents: “The Drizzle Art of Robert Holton.”  We will also feature various other up and coming artists – you’ll see them first at Elizabeth Designs. Please stop in for a glass of wine and some fun.
Fullerton Museum Center Presents: American Trash/American Treasure: Art by Michael Leighton Coffey. Mr. Coffey’s assemblages pay homage to American pop culture and its ongoing struggle against mass consumption and consumerism. Please join us as we celebrate the art with thoughtful discussions and refreshments in the Foyer Gallery.
Graves Gallery Presents: “Intrepretations3,” featuring renowned Fullerton artists Fay Colmar, Marjorie Kerr and Virginia Spencer. A strong reliance on color, pattern, texture and imagery help to tie the different works together while retaining the distinct character of each of the artists.  The opening will also include entertainment by local eclectic band, Collusion of Souls, and complimentary food tastings by Café Hidalgo, with wine provided by Graves Gallery.
Hibbleton Gallery Presents: “Hibbleton All Stars.” A massive print show celebrating our 2-year anniversary!
PÄS Gallery Presents: Co-Lab (a community collaboration – that means you!) Featuring the works of YOU! Come leave a piece of you in the PÄS Gallery. We will have a variety of materials for people to come in and make their mark. We will then post the work in quilt-like fashion on the wall creating one giant piece of community art.
Village Art Center Presents: PAT WOODHULL will be exhibiting her works in paper collage and will be present for the artwalk evening.  Come visit with her.  She is also a skilled instructor in the art of paper collage.
Weavver Presents: A night filled with visual & aural art from LA native Kevin T. Williams. Some of you may remember him as the lead singer of the seminal “World Beat” musical group THE BONEDADDYS, others may know him as the guitar player behind THE ENGLISH BEAT. This is his first art showing in Orange County.
