Applicants Sought for Museum Board of Trustees

By on January 20, 2010

Applications are being sought from citizens interested in filling one of three vacancies on the Board of Trustees of the Fullerton Museum Center.

Because the Board of Trustees is responsible for raising funds to help finance exhibitions at the award-winning Fullerton Museum Center, applicants with strong financial backgrounds are desired.

In addition to fund-raising, the board provides the museum staff with recommendations regarding exhibits and programming.

The board is a nonprofit group that works in cooperation with the City of Fullerton, and the terms are for six years.  Meetings are held the third Monday of each month at the Fullerton Museum Center.

Deadline for returning the applications is 5 p.m. April 2.  Applicants do not have to be Fullerton residents.

Applications may be obtained by calling the Fullerton Museum Center at (714) 738-6545, or by visiting the museum at 301 N. Pomona Ave., one block east of Harbor Boulevard, in downtown Fullerton.

Museum office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and noon to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and  Sunday.  The museum is also open from 5-8 p.m. Thursday.

Persons requiring special accommodations to serve as a trustee are asked to notify the museum staff when submitting an application.
